What is a giving circle?
A giving circle is participatory philanthropy. A group of individuals each donate money to form a pooled fund, leveraging their gift to make a greater impact. Circles are typically organized around a particular issue, area of interest and/or geographic region.

Who are our members?
We welcome women living in or connected to Barcelona to join BSVC. Membership is open to any woman, age 18 or over, who pays the required minimum annual donation of €1,000 by December 31 of each calendar year. The contribution will fund the annual grant.
How does it work?
Every October, we kick off the grant cycle with a vote on the issue the Circle will focus on for that year.
Members meet several times during the year to further their understanding of the issue.
We read articles, host discussions, listen to lectures, and watch films.
During this time, a Grant Committee of interested Circle members screen and propose a shortlist of possible grantee organizations, based on agreed criteria.
In June, we invite candidates from the shortlist to present at our annual meeting. Circle members hear from potential grantees about their work.
After the annual meeting, Circle members in good standing vote for the organization to receive the pool of funds for that year.
The selected grantee reports back on how the funds were used and their impact.
In October, the grant cycle restarts.
We invite you to join us today.
