How it all began
As a young mother in San Francisco, I longed to give back to my community, but I struggled to find the time to make it happen. I occasionally sponsored friends in their fundraising efforts, but it never felt like a truly meaningful contribution.
That changed when a friend introduced me to a giving circle. I was drawn immediately to the idea of like-minded women on a joint philanthropic journey. Even with limited time, attending the meetings and being a part of a collective donation reassured me that I was making a bigger and more thoughtful impact than ever before.
When I moved to Barcelona, I missed the sense of community and collective giving that I had experienced in San Francisco. So, I decided to form a giving circle in my new home. The response from friends was overwhelmingly positive, and we quickly formed the Barcelona Social Venture Circle. We all share a connection and a desire to give back to our local communities, so we decided that our giving circle will donate annually to an organization in Spain.
Joining a giving circle has been a beautiful and meaningful journey for me. I have found a community of caring and compassionate women who collaborate to make a real difference in the world.
